AHA and Satellite to Merge in Early 2013

Affordable Housing Associates (AHA) and Satellite Housing (Satellite) are very pleased to announce that on July 10, 2012, the Board of Directors of each organization approved a merger into a new agency, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA).

The decision to merge is the culmination of many months of planning and evaluation and represents our commitment to the shared purpose of providing the highest quality affordable housing and services to those in need. AHA and Satellite will be focusing on integration activities over the next several months in order to implement a merger by January 1, 2013.

AHA and Satellite strongly believe that combining two healthy, well-respected organizations with similar missions, cultures, and values will create a more impactful nonprofit best suited to thrive in the future. Under the leadership of Susan Friedland, SAHA will unite talented staff and strong portfolios, diversify lines of business, and decrease competition for limited funding for new developments.
We greatly appreciate your support during this period of growth and transition and will be issuing ongoing updates of our progress. We look forward to continuing to work with you on creating and preserving affordable homes to improve our neighborhoods and communities.
